Ida B. Wells

​

Ida B. Wells was an African American journalist and activist who led an anti-lynching crusade in the United States in the 1890s

 

Ida was one of the original founders of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

She started the first African-American kindergarten in Chicago.

Ida once said that "The people must know before they can act, and there is no educator to compare to the press."
